Excess moisture

Excess dampness, or excess moisture in the tissues, is a higher than normal amount of fluid in certain areas of the body. Responsible for the moisture pattern is a pathology of the spleen.

The spleen is responsible for the transportation of fluids in the body and is the “pump” of the lymphatic system in the body. The role of the lymphatic vessels is mainly to collect fluids that come from the capillary vessels during nutrient exchange and drain them back into the venous system. Also included in this interstitial fluid that drains into the lymphatic capillaries are pathogens, cells of the lymphocyte system, cellular secretion products and cellular debris. Fats absorbed in the small intestine are processed and then, together with components of the interstitial fluid, end up in the lymphatic capillaries ….
